Parrots are captured and imprisoned but crows roam freely.
Parrots are captured and
imprisoned but crows roam freely.
This thoughtful quote which is
probably from the epic Mahabharata unexpectedly flashed in today. Parrots are
one of the most beautiful birds on earth with their colorful appearance,
beautiful speech and cuteness. I used to see a pandemonium of parrots flying
over my head when I spent my evenings on terrace. But the same beautiful
parrots or the lovely bunch of lovebirds are those which are captured and
imprisoned. They are fed by delicious food and are kept in beautiful and well decorated
cages. Most of these birds after their long and so imagined comfortable stay in
these cages prefer to be there only. They forget they have wings. They forget
that they can fly. They forget that there is a sky, there are trees, there are
treasures of nature that they need to experience and feel. Look at the crows. They
make noise. They roam around everywhere. They fight each other for food. They enjoy
by freely flying. They are joyous and happy. I don’t mean crows are bad and
parrots are good. But this example shows why persons of superior qualities meet
with suffering while persons destitute of such qualities live joyous and happy.
We are like these beautiful parrots not aware of our beauty, our wings, and our
abilities but always want to enjoy cage life. Even if someone out of compassion
opens our cage we prefer to be there only. We are being fed by the mortal
grapes in the cage of our thoughts. We have a vast sky outside waiting for
eternal entry. We just need to come out of the cage we had built. Even if we
are bound by many things never think we are useless. You are like the parrot.
You were captured because you are beautiful. Know your beauty. Know the ability
to fly with your lovely wings. Fly high. The sky is waiting to receive you.
